Community Grieves the Loss of 21-Year-Old Conrad Riley Becker

TUPELO, Miss. — With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, family, friends, and the wider community are mourning the passing of Mr. Conrad Riley Becker, who died on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at just 21 years old.

Born on December 6, 2003, in Tupelo, Conrad was the cherished son of Rachel Prater Becker and Robert Conrad “Bob” Becker. Though his years were brief, his life was filled with love, faith, joy, and inspiration, leaving an enduring mark on everyone blessed to know him.

Conrad’s educational journey reflected his drive and determination. He attended Tupelo Christian Preparatory School before transferring to Tupelo High School, where he graduated with the Class of 2022. At the time of his passing, he was pursuing a degree in Cyber Security at Mississippi State University — a field that showcased both his intellect and his desire to shape the future.

Known for his warmth, quick wit, and wisdom beyond his years, Conrad had an uncanny ability to uplift others. Friends and loved ones remember him as a natural peacemaker — someone who could calm tensions with compassion and kindness, and who always had a reassuring word when it was needed most.

Conrad’s faith was at the center of his life. A lifelong member of St. James Catholic Church, he was active in youth ministry and retreats such as CYO and VISION at Notre Dame, experiences that deepened his devotion to Christ. Summers at Alpine Camp for Boys in Mentone, Alabama, further reflected his adventurous spirit and the joy he found in fellowship.

Though he did not compete in organized sports, Conrad thrived in the outdoors. From wake surfing and skiing to golf, basketball, and pickleball, he embraced every opportunity to live fully and share joy with others. He carried the same enthusiasm to his love of college sports, supporting Mississippi State while also cheering on Alabama football — a true SEC fan at heart.

His family describes him as a radiant soul whose love, humility, and faith continue to inspire. He is survived by his parents, siblings, grandparents, and a host of relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate Conrad’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, at St. James Catholic Church, with burial to follow at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Cemetery in Saltillo. Prior to the service, a Holy Hour of silent prayer will be observed from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. at St. James.

Though his passing leaves an irreplaceable void, the legacy of Conrad Riley Becker will live on in the love he shared, the faith he carried, and the lives he touched. His light, though gone from this world, will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him.

May his soul rest in eternal peace and perpetual light.
